Gallery IV- Dance Series (1990 – 2000)

We cannot see human being’s qualities directly; they are abstract and therefore invisible to us. Only by expressing them in the movement do they become visible. This is especially true of dance, which is the fundamental expression of human qualities and their relationship to the natural world, and to cultural identity.

These paintings explore the visual dimensions of dance and their relevance to the human condition. I aim to bring the history and meaning of dance into contemporary art. To me, dance means not only freedom but harmony and understanding, realized through the beauty and universality of the human form in movement; making the intangible.
